Goa Barallah

Located in the village of Hutapungkut - Mandailing Natal , North Sumatra. There is a Goa to society is often called Goa Barallah. Goa Barallah has significance in the history of the struggle for Indonesian independence.

Goa Barallah been used by the fighters of independence as a hiding place and a meeting on strategies to repel invaders from Indonesia.

The early history of Goa Barallah where there are two versions. The first version said that before the year 1500 Goa is already there. At that time no one man dared to go into it .

Around 1818 in the Goa already found the trail , presumably the people who come to Goa is derived from the Majapahit Kingdom who are still Hindu.

Furthermore, around 1821 already found their traditional opening of a gold mine in the area.

Then around 1834 , A sheikh named Dapit from Pagaran Siayu , Goa came to the Hutapungkut Julu . According to the story The sheikh arrival to find a lost friend.

According to the story , the sheik is the Jin incarnate. The sheikh before disappearing , that Goa in Goa named as Barallah.

Both versions say Barallah derived from the idols . Goa Barallah once used as a place of worship the idols. It is true, because if we enter into the Goa, we 'll look like a statue carved male and female were biting. These idols may be made in person to worship.

There are two snakes guarding the Goa Barallah , and they do not interfere. Once we get into , we'll see a large room, besides there are two directions, one to the right and one to the left.
